Under Reconstruction — Please forgive the confusion
If you have been here before, you will notice that I am making changes, hoping to make the site more user friendly. I have combined “Early Ministry” with “Healing and Teaching.” The other major change is to show the stories in a more chronological order.
Meet the People in the Bible
They were people like you and me. They had strengths and weaknesses. Some ended up on the right side of God, and some did not. We all make it only by grace. These short stories are Bible stories for grownups.
These stories attempt to humanize the individuals we read about in God’s Word. The intention is to encourage readers to reach beyond a critical, limited understanding. People from other backgrounds may have different perspectives based on their life experience, as is the case with the four gospels.
Most narratives are told from the point of view of a person, but a few are told by an animal or an object. My fictionalized “modern” parables are based on scriptures or the ideas behind them.
Questions for consideration are included at the end of the Bible stories. They do not have specific “right” or “wrong” answers.
A new story will be added weekly. Most of the scriptures for these Bible stories are quoted from the New International Version of the Holy Bible. I did not use the Authorized King James Version because I wanted to use modern English.
A reader may notice that some of the stories share similarities. Over the twenty-some years I have been writing stories, often the same scripture appeared and was given a new story. In most cases, details are closely related, but sometimes my mind was led in different directions. These are fictionalized but based on what is written in the Bible.
